Meet Hannah Newman

I am a recent graduate from Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. I was the managing editor of my college’s newspaper, The Rider News and previously, a features and entertainment editor. I have also interned at Zeta Tau Alpha’s national magazine, Themis of Zeta Tau Alpha since January 2023 as a contributing writer, and worked as the Marketing Manager and Content Developer for USA Soccer Scout Charlie Inverso. Right now I am the communications intern for the Office of the Dean of the Faculty at Princeton University. The experience I have gained from learning how to document culture through travel has enhanced my ability to understand a wider audience of my work and see through a different lens the responsibility it is to tell other people's stories and lifestyles especially when they are far different from one's own. Understanding how to tell a story through photos by taking note of what angles will best illustrate a meaning has been a powerful lesson during this trip. What makes the strongest writer is being able to pair personally taken photos that compliment a story with a message which is something that this trip has allowed me to progress in immensely.
